Thundershirts

 I found out about Thundershirts on accident when I brought my friend's dog to the vet and her vet had them on display. They are for dog anxiety (storms, separation, jumping, barking etc). They run $36 but are WORTH it! And if it doesn't work there is a 45 day guarantee.

Basically it is similar to swaddling an infant but for the dogs. The reason I wanted to share this is Pancake has always been a mess during storms! Nothing could calm her down. I tried everything but giving her tranquilizers, which is what the vet said the next step would be! Obviously, I did not want to do that!

Anyway, a few days after I purchased it a storm came and we swaddled her up in the shirt. She was still shaking when we put it on her but easily calmed down and just lied down. Unbelievable. I have to make hers pretty tight (but not too tight) to comfort her and I even put it on her if I am leaving the house and know a storm is coming.

I figured that even though it was expensive, nothing else worked for her and having her shake during the entire storm was not good for her. I have now seen them in a lot more stores about here and am glad I bought one!!
