Pancake needed a new collar
She needed a collar to celebrate Christmas. At least that is what she was telling me. You can't argue with her!

Pancake and her blanket obsession
So I asked the kids I babysit what they wanted for Christmas (and remember, I wanted to make as many things as possible!). W told me he wanted a blanket. He has lots of blankets and he sleeps with all of them. So I went and found UK fleece and then bought flannel for the backing. I then purchased blanket binding because I really wanted it to look nice :)
Now, let it be known I cannot do any sewing without Pancake taking over whatever I am making. I think she thinks it is for her or something. So as I am trying to pin my binding this is what happens:

Obviously, I am going to need to sew this so this is not going to work. So I get another nice, soft, fluffy pink blanket and put it down (off to the right). I place her and her bone on it. Nope, doesn't work she gets up and comes right back on my work. Nice Pancake, thank you! But she's too cute, right??

I'm thinking about making her her own little blanket. Would that be spoiling?

Pancake's New Booster Seat [plus Giveaway!!]
Okay so I will probably look like the biggest dork for this (and I'm okay with that!) but I recently received a pet booster seat for Pancake. When I bring her in the car she insists on sitting in my lap and it is really difficult (not to mention dangerous) to drive. So when CSN asked me if I wanted to do a review/giveaway I knew I would because I saw this awesome pet booster seat. She loves it and is able to relax. Normally she is a little scared about riding in the car. This keeps her secure and happy.

Now the only problems with this booster seat is 1. it doesn't provide a lot of padding and 2. the cover is orange. I like orange but I wanted something a little prettier.
So I spent all night coming up with something much cuter.

What dog doesn't need a personalized pillow to go with their padded (and adorable!) booster seat?!?

Crazy? Just a little! But it is much safer to have a dog secured in some way in the car and it just had to be cute and comfortable! Now, the only thing left is to fix the orange on the pockets and put some pink bias tape on it to make it all match 100%!
I would 100% recommend this booster seat! It folds flat if you need to take it out and it comes mostly put together. You have to insert a metal piece (and I will admit I did have a few problems with it) but once that is in it is perfect!
-------------
Now, how would you like to win $35 to put towards anything at CSN and their stores? They have EVERYTHING you could think of and LOTS of dog and pet supplies. Now as annoying as it is (sorry) please leave a separate comment for each entry.
The giveaway will end on November 15th at midnight. How great would it be to have a little extra for Christmas shopping?

I received a credit for CSN Stores and could choose anything I wanted. Of course I choose something for Pancake but all of the views & opinions expressed are 100% my own.

Introduction to Pancake
So Brianne wrote a great introduction to Kirby and now Pancake needs her time to shine.
Full Name: Pancake Nelson (yeah, she doesn't have a huge full name like Kirby)
Nicknames: P, Wiggle Butt, Monkey, Munchkin,
Birthday: Unknown but adoption day is July 3, 2008
Weight: 10-11lbs
Birthplace: Tennessee (I think)
Favorite Food: roast beef, cat food, lots of treats, people food
Favorite Toy: Kitty (actually a cat toy. She loves the mice that you buy for cats. She has a few!)
Best Friend: Kirby
Favorite treat: Milkbones
Favorite time of day: When her mommy gets home
Likes: Sleeping, snuggling, being spoiled, trying to play with Izzy (cat), playing with her toys, treats.
Dislikes: Waking up early, baths, getting her nails cut,
She really thinks she is a princess. If I try to wake her up early when I put the family pets out she gives me a look like, "I am not getting up now. What are you thinking?" and she goes to curl up on another part of the bed. I wonder if she remembers her "old, bad puppy-mill life." She is really spoiled (she is the only dog allowed to sit at the front door, on the furniture etc.) and so now I think she thinks she is entitled to it. Of course, I don't tell her anything different. :)

Thundershirts
I found out about Thundershirts on accident when I brought my friend's dog to the vet and her vet had them on display. They are for dog anxiety (storms, separation, jumping, barking etc). They run $36 but are WORTH it! And if it doesn't work there is a 45 day guarantee.
"The Thundershirt's gentle, constant pressure has a dramatic calming effect for most dogs if they are anxious, fearful or over-excited. It is this pressure that has a dramatic calming effect for most dogs if they are anxious, fearful or over-excited." And over 85% of dogs react positively to the Thundershirt.
Basically it is similar to swaddling an infant but for the dogs. The reason I wanted to share this is Pancake has always been a mess during storms! Nothing could calm her down. I tried everything but giving her tranquilizers, which is what the vet said the next step would be! Obviously, I did not want to do that!
Anyway, a few days after I purchased it a storm came and we swaddled her up in the shirt. She was still shaking when we put it on her but easily calmed down and just lied down. Unbelievable. I have to make hers pretty tight (but not too tight) to comfort her and I even put it on her if I am leaving the house and know a storm is coming.
I figured that even though it was expensive, nothing else worked for her and having her shake during the entire storm was not good for her. I have now seen them in a lot more stores about here and am glad I bought one!!

This post is my own review. I was not compensated for this. I just really like the product and wanted to share my opinion.
